Unbelievable value for money. The rooms are comfortable and superior to a lot of hotels costing more than twice as much. I almost felt guilty having breakfast included at 20 pounds a night for a single room even though we had to book two rooms as there were no double rooms left. Our own fault, we should have booked earlier. There are a couple of good chip shops a few minutes walk away and a supermarket which doesnt close until after 9pm so you can stock up on food, snacky things, soft drinks etc.

The hotel was fine for what we needed. It was clean and the price was very reasonable. It is very good accommodation for families on a budget. The breakfast facilitys were good. The member of staff at reception when we arrived was very pleasant and efficient.
Room had a damp smell about it.

I think it is a fantastic model for uk holiday accommodation: great price, includes breakfast, relaxed, clean, comfortable beds, en-suite. We need more places like this as it fills the gap between over-priced "quality" places and naff B&Bs/ tatty but stuffy hotels / and youth hostels (which can be less appropriate for "older" people).
The locks on the room doors were pretty dodgy - which may not matter in a place like Ullapool (although could have).

clean room - very basic, but price basic. Staff very friendly. Very convenient.
Decor very shabby and bedding although clean was very shabby and tired! Breakfast very basic. Would have liked tv in room as travelling on own and would have been good to relax at night.

It used to be a hotel and now it's a hostel. I'd say it's a bridge between the two - a no frills hotel. I had a single en-suite room, a breakfast of toast, tea, cereal and juice, and spotlessly clean bed linen. You also get a kettle in your room. You definitely don't get those from a hostel. The shower was great, the bed was comfy, the room was very airy. There's no bar or anything like that, but again, it's a hostel. The staff were very helpful and friendly, particularly the lady working there, who was fantastic. If you come prepared to stay in a hostel: bring your own teabags, coffee, milk and food; then you'll do brilliantly - there's a microwave if you want to eat hot food or you could go to the excellent chip shop in town (Seaforth's)! Also, don't expect to be treated like you're in a hotel just because you get your own room - it's not a hotel. If you bear all of that in mind, then you'll have no problems. I thought it was fantastic, the price was excellent...and who cares what it looks like from the front? I will definitely be booking it again - next time with my husband and daughter.

Great location: Close enough to walk to the waterfront yet far enough away to be wonderfully quiet at night. Allan on reception was a bonus - always smiling and able to help with everything from information to finding a doctor at short notice. The breakfast was basic but adequate. Nice gardens & free parking. Good value for anyone looking for hostel accommodation.

Comfortable room. Bathroom worked well. Shower powerful and simple to use. Paintwork and tiling very good. Communal area smart and comfortable. Nice picture on our wall. Staff cheerful and welcoming and working hard.
Exterior woodwork in poor condition. Window lock/catch in our room not working.

The accomodation was good value for the price paid. The en suite was a joy with a bath and a shower, unusual nowadays.
All satisfactory. Will stay there again.

You get what you pay for, nothing more and nothing less. Ok hotel near hiking-trails, with little continental breakfast. Hotel need renovation. One young man who worked in reception and did everything in this hotel was very hardworking.
